Capacity Building

The project is building the technical capacities of MoWCA, DPHE, and Local Government Institutions (LGIs) to integrate climate risks and impacts into design and implementation support in a manner that is responsive to community needs and priorities, especially those who are marginalized (including women, girls, people with disabilities, elderly, and minority communities). Total 525 number of Government staff will be benefited from improved capacities for climate-risk informed planning and implementation of resilient solutions for water and livelihood security. A targeted "Learning" plan is being developed and implemented that extend learning beyond the standard project monitoring elements mainly focusing on young girls and boys, as the agents of future change to achieve enhanced climate change resilience through transformative adaptation.

The strengthened technical capacities combined with knowledge and learning will boost the replicability and scalability potential of Livelihood and water components of the project. Knowledge generated through project activities including climate risk analyses and modelling, decision-making tools, best practices and lessons learned will be codified and institutionalized for dissemination as training modules through institutional platforms, technical training institutes, and academia.
